In the first action of the 2007 - 2008 season the Knights wrestled at the All Bellevue City Jamboree. All the Bellevue schools consisting of Newport, Interlake, Sammamish and Bellevue where invited to the Jamboree being hosted by Interlake High School.  The veteran Newport Wrestlers looked impressive at the Jamboree as well as some impressive debut's of a couple of freshmen.      Elliot Yee, Andrew Caroon and Steven Erickson hit the mat running racking up several takedowns against their respective opponents and performing well on the ground overall.

Ian Case looked very impressive in a dominating performance at the Jamboree showcasing a double leg takedown picking up his opponent and planting him into the mat.  In his first match he picked up 6 takedowns.  Shawn Weisenburgh also picked up 7 takedowns in his match against a Sammamish wrestler.

The veterans and rookies performed well at the All Bellevue City Jamboree. The kids who wrestled last year are stepping up to the challenge of the upcoming season and I am looking forward to a great 2007 - 2008 campaign.
